ICE Arrests Five Biden-Era Entrants Wanted for Murder Abroad

Five foreign fugitives wanted for murder in their home countries were arrested in New England over the past month, all having entered the United States during President Biden's open border policies. Despite a 52-day partial shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security that Democrats initiated to defund immigration enforcement, the Trump administration continues removing these violent criminals from American communities.
ICE Boston announced the arrests April 7, confirming all five suspects entered the U.S. during President Biden's presidency. The arrests expose ongoing public safety threats from Biden-era catch-and-release policies that allowed wanted criminals to embed in American communities.
Danny Granados-Garcia, an alleged MS-13 gang member wanted for aggravated homicide in El Salvador, was apprehended March 10 in Waterbury, Connecticut. He entered the U.S. May 6, 2016, as an unaccompanied alien child near the Rio Grande Valley, Texas, and was subsequently released by Border Patrol. Three other suspects carry Interpol Red Notices for murder charges.
Kele Cristian Alves-Pereira, wanted for murder in Brazil, was arrested March 13 in Everett, Massachusetts. Magno Jose Dos Santos, sought for homicide and attempted homicide in Brazil, was taken into custody March 22 in Worcester, Massachusetts. Bryan Rafael Gomez, a Dominican national wanted for homicide, was captured April 4 in Worcester, and Altieris Chaves Paiva, wanted for murder in Brazil, was arrested April 5 in Falmouth, Massachusetts.
The arrests occurred despite a partial DHS shutdown that began Feb. 14. Democrats conditioned homeland security funding on ICE reforms following fatal shootings by ICE agents in Minneapolis in January. The Senate passed legislation March 27 funding most DHS agencies but excluding ICE and Customs and Border Protection.
ICE continues enforcement operations using $75 billion secured through the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" passed in 2025. This Trump-era funding mechanism insulates immigration enforcement from Democratic attempts to defund operations cleaning up border policy failures.
"We will continue arresting public safety threats from our communities and will not allow the Democrats to slow us down from making America safe again," stated DHS Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis on April 7. ICE Boston echoed the commitment, affirming it remains "strongly committed to targeted enforcement actions against the most dangerous criminal aliens."
President Trump signed an executive order April 3 directing DHS employees receive pay using other funds. ICE agents have also been deployed to assist TSA at airports due to staffing shortages from unpaid workers during the 52-day shutdown.
The five arrests reflect a broader pattern of dangerous foreign nationals entering during Biden's presidency. Operation Patriot 2.0 in September 2025 resulted in 1,406 illegal alien arrests in Massachusetts, including foreign fugitives with Interpol Red Notices and transnational gang members.
DHS reports 70 percent of ICE arrests involve individuals charged or convicted of crimes in the U.S. This statistic does not include foreign fugitives, gang members, or terrorists who lack American criminal records.
The House has not voted on the Senate's partial DHS funding bill as of April 14. Democrats maintain the shutdown to pressure the Trump administration into accepting reforms that would limit immigration enforcement actions.
"ERO Boston has always been—and will continue to be—strongly committed to targeted enforcement actions against the most dangerous criminal aliens, ensuring the safety and security of our New England communities," ICE Boston stated on social media.
The five murder suspects now face removal proceedings. Their cases demonstrate systematic Trump-era efforts to address public safety threats created by Biden's border policies. ICE continues operations despite Democratic obstruction that aims to prevent accountability for the consequences of catch-and-release policies.
